• Academic Performance: Increase the percentage of students performing at proficient or above on Georgia Milestones assessments from 85% to 91%.

Car Riders & Student Drivers

• Drop-Off: Student drop-off starts after 8:00 AM (no drop-offs permitted before 8:00 AM).
• Pick-Up: Students must be picked up by 3:30 PM.
• Building Access: Exterior doors lock at 9:00 AM. Late arriving students must check in at the front office. Forsyth Virtual Academy (FVA) and Work-Based Learning (WBL) students may enter through the main entrance during class changes.
• Parking: 600 designated student parking spaces are available.

Bus Shuttle Information

• Morning Shuttle: Arrive at your districted base high school by 8:00 AM. Wait in designated areas until boarding the shuttle to AAI.
• Afternoon Shuttle: Buses depart AAI at 3:10 PM. Students must ride their assigned shuttle back to their base school.
• Shuttle Wave Schedule:
  • 1st Wave (Departs AAI at 3:10 PM): East (Lambert, Denmark), South, and West districts.
  • 2nd Wave (Buses arrive at 3:15 PM): North and Central districts.

Students are assigned to an Avenger House based on their chosen CTAE Career Pathway:

Required Credits for Graduation (23 Total Credits Minimum)

• English / Language Arts: 4 Credits
• Mathematics: 4 Credits
• Science: 4 Credits
• Social Studies: 3 Credits
• CTAE / World Language / Fine Arts: 3 Credits
• Health & Personal Fitness: 1 Credit
• Electives: 4 Credits

Course Credit & Self-Pay Course Limits

• Self-Pay Online Courses: Students in grades 9–12 may earn a maximum of 1 high school credit (0.5/0.5 or 1.0) for self-pay online courses (GAVS or FVA) outside their regular schedule per semester (Fall, Spring, Summer) to be included on transcripts and GPA calculations.
• Dual Enrollment (GAfutures): Dual Enrollment courses funded through GAfutures (up to 30 hours) will be posted to transcripts and factored into the overall weighted GPA.
• Self-Pay Dual Enrollment: Self-pay Dual Enrollment courses within the high school schedule will appear on transcripts but will NOT factor into the overall GPA.
• Effective Date: Applies starting with the Class of 2028 beginning in Summer 2025.

Academic Support Services

If a student is struggling academically, recommended steps include:

• Attending MARVEL Time during Block 3.
• Attending MARVEL Academy sessions.
• Meeting teachers during morning/afternoon help sessions.

GHSA Athletic Participation Steps

Students attending AAI may participate in Georgia High School Association (GHSA) sports at their districted base high school by completing these steps:

1. Initial Contact: Contact Mrs. Lauren Nickell at AAI to express intent to try out.
2. Eligibility Verification: Must be on track to graduate, enrolled in at least 5 classes, and passed 5 out of 7 classes the previous semester.
3. Form Completion: Athletic Director collects contact details and completes the GHSA MT Form.
4. School Communication: AAI Athletic Director sends documentation to the base school's Athletic Director.
5. GHSA Portal Submission: Base school Athletic Director submits the MT form in the GHSA portal for official clearance.

Note: This process must be completed annually.

AAI offers several student organizations tied to career pathways:

Volunteer Opportunities

Parents are invited to support AAI through the PTSO in the following areas:

• Planning and coordinating monthly Treat Trolleys for teachers and staff.
• Assisting during Teacher Appreciation Week.
• Assisting in the front office on a weekly basis.
